Homonym

← Homoconcominym
Homosynonym →

Two or more unrelated words or phrases are pronounced the same but spelled differently. Example: hair, hare. Unlike most flats, homonym bases may lack dictionary nature. Example: we pause, wee paws, weep awes.

A reversed homonym is called a mynomoh; the phonemes of one solution provide the second solution when read in reverse order. Example: lutetium, mushy tool.
